Lindsey and Mike's wedding in Polebridge, Montana marked my first trip to Polebridge. It's a very small little town north of Columbia Falls, Montana and west of Glacier National Park. The town is off the grid but has solar power and generators. The town if famous for the Polebridge Mercantile, a small homey store that sells huckleberry bear claws and a variety of other breakfast items.
Lindsey and Mike recently purchased some land north of Polebridge where they will one day live, but firstly we held their wedding ceremony there. Afterwards we moved to the Mercantile for their reception.
As the light waned near the sunset I grabbed the couple and we went out into the neighboring field, which is more like a floodplain. There are many downed trees but also a wide open meadow with views of West Glacier, so we took advantage of that expansive view. I had the couple stand on a stump then I asked a couple questions that got the laughter going and came away with this amazing portrait of Lindsey being exactly who she is.
These are the kind of portraits I love to capture for my clients during their Montana weddings.
