I had such a special weekend with Kelsey and Yann, including both their rehearsal dinner and a full wedding day at Rainbow Ranch in Big Sky. K&Y live in Big Sky, so they are intimately familiar with the venues and the atmosphere, so when they described their venue choice this way: “We love fishing, the chance to be on the water, feel close to nature, and love the humble feel that Rainbow Ranch has”. I think that tells the story of the day perfectly: it was beautiful, classy, with a touch of casual. Their vows were powerful, their signature drinks wonderful, and their processional violinist (11 years old!) sentimental.
I really love Kelsey and Yann’s engagement story so I’m going to include it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Truly a day that we would recreate over and over again if given the chance. Yann and I traditionally head to Moab to bike the Whole Enchilada every November around my birthday. We collect all of our rowdiest, most fun, bad ass friends and rally for a super fun weekend. In good fashion, we had a pretty festive birthday celebration the night before heading up for our bike shuttle. Unfortunately it had snowed the night before which created a little uncertainty as to whether we would be able to do our annual shin dig. We were left with a group of hungover bikers negotiating weather and conditions. You would have never known Yann had been planning the proposal, and despite the potential plan unraveling, Yann was chill as a cucumber…typical. The shuttle company rallied, and the whole group was able to make the ride despite the mud and questionable riding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After making it to our favorite lookout(what desert dreams are made of), and in the company of our friends, Yann pretended to get a picture of the two of us. After a few poses, and me, oblivious to the antics, Yann proposed. I was in awe, mostly because I thought I would have known if Yann had something up his sleeve. Good poker face I suppose. “<\/p>\n\n\n\n
