Lily and Isaac brought almost their entire wedding from out of state to Isaac’s grandfather’s ranch in central Montana and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. The weather was perfect, the elk were bugling, and emotion was strong. Two of my favorite moments of the year happened at this wedding: during the ceremony the older men of the combined families came together around the couple to read texts then put their hands on the couple in a blessing. Later, during the reception, Isaac’s father played a powerful slideshow he had put together of the couple’s lives. Lily’s father sat on the floor crying happy tears, and Lily came to join him.
