Spending a full day with a family and photographing their everyday life is one of my favorite things to do. I love wedding photography and it’s my first passion, but Day in the Life family photography is a close second. Watching kids do the things that kids do without any inhibitions about being in front of a camera allows me to photograph from a pure documentary angle. Kids aren’t self-conscious nor do they care about licking their books or the lid of the Vitamix. This day with the Banks family was a typical one – the father (Nate) was at work while Ariana was home with the three kids (this was before school was in session) doing schoolwork and chaperoning their outdoor activities. There was boundless energy, exhaustion, tears, sibling love and frustration, smiles, and baffling behaviors only children can get away with. Ariana and Nate, thank you for having me and I hope you love these photos as much as I think you all will in 20 years! This is a great gift to pass onto them.
