Anacortes Engagement Photographer at Deception Pass and Bowman’s Bay
Our first phone call was an-hour-and-forty-minutes. Then we made an elk dinner together. Then more phone calls and emails. Whitney was very thorough in her vetting. You see, she has reason to believe her wedding day will be ‘above average’ when it comes to emotion, so hiring a documentary photographer was of utmost import. Also, she works with photojournalists at a newspaper, so this is her wheelhouse. And thus, I am incredibly honored to be chosen to photograph Whitney and Dan’s wedding this summer in Ennis, Montana. Their date can’t some soon enough.
But first came the engagement photos. Just 30 hours before I left the country for two months (more on that later), she and Dan drove up to Anacortes and met Tori Pintar and I to traipse around the forests near Deception Pass State Park and Bowman’s Bay. The afternoon rain faded just as we started and although we didn’t get a sunset, we were happy just to stay dry. And I brought my dog, Max, along, and who doesn’t love playing with a dog on the beach?
Whitney warned me that she’s not photogenic and the photos would all be awkward, terrible, and ugly. Oh Whitney… 🙂
