Molly + Steve’s Stryker, Montana Wedding

Stryker is one of the most remote places I’ve ever found myself in Montana, and I hunt pheasants in the tiniest of towns on the eastern edge of the state. We began on Friday with a Cuban-themed rehearsal dinner which was super fun and relaxed. On Saturday I showed up extra early because Molly’s mom and stepdad’s property, where the wedding was held, was surrounded by lakes that seemed made for recreation. I was told the water was a bit cold, but that didn’t stop a line from forming for the paddleboards, canoes, and inflatable duck.

Molly and her ladies got ready in a veranda overlooking one of those lakes while friends and flower girls came and went, Steve and his guys got ready in the basement game room which was challengingly dark but presented some unique lighting for a flower girl playing on a billiards table.

Molly and Steve’s emotional ceremony was lakeside, followed by a cocktail hour at a mountaintop cabin, then a beautiful reception (shout out to Lynn Malmberg!) on the front lawn. Molly, Steve, and I were able to sneak away for a few minutes just as the sun was setting for a couple of lakeside portraits, then we had hours of awesome dancing. Be sure to check out the slideshow for a more thorough compilation of the day!
