Julie + Colter’s Woodlands Bozeman Wedding Photography

After photographing Julie and Colter up at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana this past winter for their engagement session, they became a couple whose wedding I looked forward to all season long.  They are both so sweet and genuine and they’ve been together forever (seven years!) but they’re still able to be romantic and adorable when I need them to be.

As you would expect from really nice people, Julie and Colter’s families and bridal party were also fantastic to work with.  Some of the bridesmaids were immensely helpful to me throughout the day, plus they kept the dance floor alive hours after most of the other guests had gone home.

Fortunately Julie’s not an ugly crier otherwise half the images from the day would have been discarded.  As you’ll see in the slideshow, she is a pretty emotional person (as is her whole family).  But I loved it as I love emotion.  I think it tells a powerful story and Julie and Colter’s is no exception. The Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon in Bozeman was the perfect venue choice, as were all of her vendors really (especially the photographer!). The weather had played games with us that week, but it opened up just for the weekend so we’d have a not-too-hot-but-still-sunny day for the wedding that was seven years in the making.

I really like this one so I’m going to share Julie’s description of how they met:

“We grew up together. My parents and his parents went to school together and we grew up two houses apart. We went to the lake one summer with some friends and he pushed me into the water with my shirt on. I took his shirt home with me because it was the dry one.. a couple of days later I texted him because I wanted my shirt back.. and the rest is history.”
